Zero Tolerance to Discrimination

Aviation Training Center will not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment, bullying, or victimisation. This includes behaviour arising from prejudice, ignorance, stereotyping, or thoughtlessness.

Any breach of this policy by staff or students will be treated as misconduct.
Serious offences—including harassment, bullying, or victimisation—may be regarded as gross misconduct and could result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from employment or removal from academic programs.

Forms of Discrimination

The following forms of discrimination are prohibited:

  • Direct Discrimination
    Treating an individual less favourably because of a protected characteristic.

  • Associative Discrimination
    Discriminating against someone due to their association with another person who has a protected characteristic.

  • Discrimination by Perception
    Treating someone unfairly because they are believed to have a protected characteristic, whether or not this is true.

  • Indirect Discrimination
    Applying a policy or practice that appears neutral but disadvantages a particular group, unless it can be objectively justified.

  • Victimisation
    Treating an individual unfairly because they have raised, supported, or participated in a complaint or grievance related to discrimination.
