Recognizing dangerous goods applicability
Understanding the general limitations
Identifying roles and responsibilities
Understanding the importance of classification & packaging
Understanding hazard communication
Familiarizing with basic Emergency Response
2) Classifying dangerous goods
Evaluate a substance or an article against the classification criteria
Determine dangerous goods description
Review special provisions
3) Preparing dangerous goods shipment
Assess packing options including quantity limitations
Apply packing requirements
Apply marks and labels
Assess use of overpack
Prepare documentation
4) Processing/accepting cargo
Review documentation
Review package(s)
Complete acceptance procedures
Process/accept cargo other than dangerous goods
5) Managing cargo pre-loading
Plan loading
Prepare load for aircraft
Issue NOTOC
6) Accepting passenger and crew baggage
Process baggage
Accept baggage
7) Transporting cargo/baggage
Load aircraft
Manage dangerous goods pre and during flight
Unload aircraft
8) Collecting safety data
Report dangerous goods accidents
Report dangerous goods incidents
Report undeclared/mis-declared dangerous goods

Working knowledge of English language (Read, Write, Speak)
Basic concepts of mathematics
Exam & Certificate
- An IATA + GCAA Certificate is awarded upon successful.
- Completion of the course and an assessment. (Passing 80%).
